Ruby’s Pantry in Sherburn
Ruby’s Pantry drive-through grocery distribution will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Monday, June 16, at 2 Crossroads Drive in Sherburn. The cost is $25 per bundle, in cash. We have pre-pay available. Visit www.rubyspantry.org and find Express Track. It will show how to pay ahead. This is available until 1 p.m. on the day before the distribution or until the quota is filled. There are no income or residential guidelines. Ruby’s offers a generous amount of food in each bundle. Items vary each month; check out our Facebook page (Ruby’s Pantry-RWC-Sherburn) on the weekend before the distribution. Bring empty boxes if possible. Make sure there is plenty of room in your car for the bundle amounts you receive.
Mini Monday at the Fairmont library
Come for stories and playtime during Mini Monday at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 16 at the Martin County Library in Fairmont. Mini Monday is for children ages birth to five and an adult caregiver. There is no cost to attend this program, and pre-registration is not required. For additional information, contact the Martin County Library in Fairmont at (507) 238-4207.
Baton Twirling Level 3
Level three baton twirling will be from 1 to 1:45 p.m. on Monday, June 23, and Wednesday, June 25, at the Fairmont Elementary School. This course is for those who have completed levels one and two of baton twirling and are ready to learn routines and more challenging skills. Batons will be provided for use if you do not have your own. For an additional fee of $25, participants are able to purchase a baton to take home for practice. The instructor will set additional twirl times. Registration is required, costs $24, closes June 16 and can be completed on the CER webstore. Coffee Party at East Chain Methodist
A community coffee party will be from 8:30 to 11 a.m. on Monday, June 14 at the East Chain Methodist Church. All are welcome.
East Chain Meat Shoot
The East Chain Sportsman Club will have a “Meat Shoot” at noon on Sunday, June 15 at one mile north of 254th Avenue in East Chain. Meat packages prizes can be won. The grill will be on all day. For additional information, contact Moby at (507) 236-4189.
EES presentation on Monday
Mark Gaalswyk of Easy Environmental Solutions will be giving a presentation on how Nano-Void Water Purification Systems can benefit area lakes by controlling algae at 6 p.m. on Monday, June 16, in Room 012 at the Southern Minnesota Educational Campus in Fairmont.

Lillian Higgins, of Fairmont, has been named to the Dean’s List at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse for the 2024-2025 spring semester. Higgins majors in psychology.
