Fairmont UCC to serve meal
First Congregational UCC in Fairmont will serve a free community meal at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28. The menu includes egg bake, cinnamon rolls, assorted fruit, coffee, milk and water. All are welcome.
Wednesday coffee at the Chubb House

Fishing on Hobo Trail For grades 3-6
Grab your fishing pole and join Tony Rosener and Harry Brumbaugh for an evening of fishing and fun from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, at Hobo Trail in Fairmont. They will supply the bait along with plenty of fish stories. Parents are welcome to join in on the fun. This is a free event. Girls Basketball Camp Grades PreK-1st
A pre-kindergarten to grade 1 girls’ basketball camp will be from 8 to 8:45 a.m. on June 16, 17, 18, and 20 at the Fairmont Elementary School. Girls will learn the building blocks of basketball skills. This is a non-competitive first look at dribbling, passing, shooting, and even defense with an emphasis on fun. Girls Basketball Camp Grades 2-3
A grade 2 to 3 girls’ basketball camp will be from 9 to 10 a.m. on June 16, 17, 18, and 20 at Fairmont Elementary School. Girls will be introduced to lay-ups, free-throws, and advanced passing and defensive skills. In this level, girls will be divided into teams and will begin learning how to play the half-court and full-court game of basketball. Girls Basketball Camp Grades 4-6
A grades 4 to 6 girls’ basketball camp will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on June 16, 17, 18 and 20 at the Fairmont Elementary School. All the basics will be covered, from ball handling, to shooting and passing. Girls ready for this level can dribble confidently with their eyes up, shoot comfortably at the basket, and have some experience playing in games. Boys Basketball Camp Entering Grades 7-8
A grades 7 to 8 boys’ basketball camp will be from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on June 16, 17, 18, and 20 at Fairmont High School. Boys will continue working on the fundamental skills of shooting, dribbling, passing, 3 on 3 and 5 on 5 basketball. There will be awards. T-ball camp for children
T-ball for children ages 4 to entering grade 3 will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on June 17, 18, 24, 26, July 1, 3, 8, 10, 15, and 17 at Fairmont High School. The program stresses teamwork over competition. Adult volunteer coaches needed. Registration is required, costs $40, closes on May 29, and can be completed on the CER webstore.
