Kiwanis to meet

The Early Risers Kiwanis Club of Fairmont will gather for their weekly breakfast at 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 21, at The Ranch restaurant in Fairmont. A meeting at 6:50 a.m. will follow. The speaker of the meeting will be Colby Whitmore of Great Plains Transportation. ER Kiwanis will learn about Great Plains Transportation. The public is invited to attend.

Free testers at Recovery in Motion

Recovery in Motion in Fairmont will offer free-of-charge lifesaving Narcan nasal spray and fentanyl test strips to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, May 23 at 1100 Indus Street in Fairmont. Without the test strips, visitors can come and learn more about Recovery in Motion and its mission.

Parents With Littles – Your Technology Safety Toolbox

Social Club Simple instructor Nickie Welsh will teach technology safety for parents with young children from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, in a Zoom meeting. This practical training class is designed to equip busy parents with essential tools and knowledge to keep their little ones safe in an increasingly connected world. You’ll gain practical tips and strategies for managing technology use, protecting privacy, and fostering a safe digital environment for young children. Mackenzie Marie Carlson of Fairmont was among 3,591 graduates who received degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln during commencement exercises May 3, 17 and 18.

Carlson earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminology and Criminal Justice with high distinction from the UNO College of Public Affairs and Community Service.
