A Star Wars party will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, at the Martin County Library in Fairmont. “May the Fourth be with you” will be celebrated with fun activities for all ages. Vitamins and herbs, facts and fallacies

Janice Novak will have a class about identifying beneficial vitamins from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, in a Zoom meeting. In this workshop, students will learn the seven guidelines that determine if a supplement is well-balanced or a waste of money. The instructor does not sell any supplements. The class will discuss what current research says about antioxidants, phytochemicals, anti-aging nutrients, colloidal minerals, chelated minerals, sustained release formulas, as well as collagen, glucosamine, chondroitin, melatonin, ginkgo, ginseng, and echinacea. 55+ Driver Discount Program

A 55+ driver discount program will be from 5 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, at the Southern Minnesota Educational Campus in Fairmont. Complete this course to get a 10 percent discount on your auto insurance premiums. Taught as a presentation from a certified instructor, students will discuss challenges as drivers, new road designs, vehicle technology, and updates on current laws. Best of all, there are no written or behind-the-wheel tests. A certificate will be provided at the end of class. Cost is $24 per participant.
