Play Cafe offered weekly
Play Café, a program for children ages zero to five (along with their caregivers), will be able to meet at the Martin County Library in Fairmont at 10 a.m. every Tuesday, from now until Tuesday, Nov. 26. Join us to explore and play at the library! There is no fee to attend and pre-registration is not required. For additional information, contact the Martin County Library at (507) 238-4207.
CREST to host low-vision support group
CREST is holding a Low Vision Support Group that provides reassurance and assistance to people living with vision-related problems. Attendants are free to share what’s bothering them, and learn about ways to combat and live with low vision. The Low Vision Support Group will be meeting at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 28 at the CREST office. A representative from the Minnesota State Services for the Blind will be featuring the latest aids & gadgets for those with low vision. No registration is necessary and refreshments will be served following the meeting.
Methodist Church to have community harvest meal
The people of the Fairmont United Methodist Church invite the public to a free Community Harvest Meal & Dessert Auction from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (or until the food is gone) on Sunday, Oct. 27. The Sunday church service will begin at a special time of 10 a.m. The Menu will consist of pork loin, baked potato, vegetables, dessert, and a beverage. Free-will donations will be accepted. A dessert auction will take place after the meal and will be conducted by the Balcom Brothers. Proceeds will go towards Children’s Ministries. If interested in donating a dessert to the auction, bring it to the fellowship hall at 9:30 a.m.
