Ruby’s Pantry for distribution in East Chain
Ruby’s Pantry will hold a food distribution from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, at the East Chain Evangelical Free Church in rural East Chain. The distribution will be conducted in a drive-thru procedure, and guests are not required to leave their vehicles. Guests are encouraged to clean out the trunk of their vehicle before arriving at the distribution. There are no income or residency guidelines. Ruby’s Pantry is funded by a $25 cash donation per participant for operational costs and they receive an abundance of food. Fairmont Chamber to celebrate Triple H
The Fairmont Area Chamber will present an after-hours party to toast to Triple H Financial Services from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 23, at the Triple H Financial Services building. Attendants may indulge in desserts, refreshments, and company. The Triple H Financial Services, named after Jacob Hartke’s children, prioritizes forming close connections and familial bonds with clients and assisting them with planning for the future.
CREST to host new volunteer training
There will be a training session for people who are interested in becoming a new CREST volunteer, and the opportunity to meet seniors and brighten their lives. The training will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24 at the CREST offices (at 820 Winnebago Avenue, Suite 2 in Fairmont.) CREST volunteers provide “Live in Home Services” such as friendly visiting, telephone reassurance, home helpers, minor home repairs, transportation, and respite care. Time with area seniors will make a difference in their lives. The need for volunteers at CREST continues to grow. If interested, contact the CREST office at (507) 235-3833 and request a volunteer registration form. Bring the completed form to the training on Oct. 24.
Kiwanis to meet Wednesday meeting
Fairmont Early Riser Kiwanis invites the public to join them for breakfast at 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at The Ranch. A meeting at 6:50 a.m. will follow. The featured speakers of the meeting will be Britney Kawecki (at large), and Amber Hansen (Ward 2), both city council candidates.
