Adaptive basketball for athletes with disabilities

CER’s Adaptive Hoops program strives to create a supporting and positive environment for students with mental or physical disabilities in Grades 4th to 6th, while also polishing their skills on the basketball court. The dates of the program are 6 to 7 p.m. Oct. 20, 28, Nov. 4, and 11 at the Five Lakes Gym in the Fairmont Elementary School. The program goes beyond conventional basketball training and shoots to build memories and lasting friendships. A t-shirt is included in this program. Pre-registration is required and costs $18 per participating child.

Fall Craft and Vendor Show at Knights of Columbus

The 2024 Fall Craft and Vendor Show returns to town for the 2024 season and will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19 at the Knights of Columbus building in Fairmont. Over 30 crafters and vendors will be in attendance to showcase their works to the public. Food will be available from the Granada First Responders Fundraiser.

Boekett to hold after hours event

Presented by the Fairmont Area Chamber of Commerce Boekett Building Supply Inc. will host an ‘after hours’ event to celebrate the building’s remodeling and loyal patrons to the company. The event will be at 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. tonight, Wednesday, Oct. 16, located the Boekett Building Supply Inc. building. Those in attendance will be able to meet staff, look at company used materials, and more.
