Healing Hearts Benefit in September
Throughout the month of September, there will be a Healing Hearts Benefit sponsored by First Farmers & Merchants Bank. Donations are being sought. Items needed the most are paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo, body wash, deodorants, feminine products, cleaning products, waxed paper, cling wrap, tin foil, laundry detergent, fabric softener, dryer sheets, dishwasher pods, twin sheet sets, also larger items such as upright freezers, computers and printers. Cash donations are always welcome. Drop-off location is First Farmers & Merchants Bank, 114 S. Park St. in Fairmont. To coordinate larger donations, contact Cheri Frank at (507) 848-6307.
Hospital retirees to lunch
Fairmont Community Hospital retirees will hold their next luncheon 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9, at the Green Mill Restaurant in the Best Western, Fairmont. All persons who worked and retired from the hospital in Fairmont are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Partners in Education plan Tuesday meeting
Fairmont Partners in Education, formerly the Alumni Association, will hold its annual meeting 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, in the media center at Fairmont Elementary School, 714 Victoria St. in Fairmont. Class of 1962 to lunch
Fairmont High School class of 1962, spouses and friends will meet for lunch 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, at the Pizza Ranch in Fairmont. All classmates and friends are encouraged to attend.
Aktion Club Theatre to meet Thursday
Aktion Club Theatre, a part of Kiwanis International, will meet 4:30-6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, at Grace Lutheran Church, 300 S. Grant St. in Fairmont. Any questions about the group, please call Pat Kietzer at (507) 848-5017.
Pokemon Card Club Thursday at library
Next, join library staff for an all ages Pokemon Card Club beginning 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, at the Fairmont Library, 110 N. Park St. in Fairmont. Bring your cards or borrow some of theirs.
