Red Rock to hold Saturday events

Join staff at the Red Rock Center for Kidcasso, a monthly open art studio experience for toddlers to grade school, from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at 222 E. Blue Earth Ave. in Fairmont. Drop by and let your kids unleash their creativity with various fun projects. Please use the south entrance. Also,

don’t miss the Community Open House and Member Appreciation from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, at the Red Rock Center for the Arts in Fairmont. Discover their upcoming concert series, view the visual art exhibit by local artist Dale Harbitz and craft your very own greeting cards. Be captivated by an exceptional musical performance at 3 p.m. featuring a series of violin duets by Fiona Green and Liam Edberg. The event concludes with a business briefing. Enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres, wine and beer. This is free and open to everyone.

Church on the Lawn in East Chain

Church on the Lawn” services will be held beginning 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, at East Chain Evangelical Free Church, located three miles east of the village of East Chain. The speaker will be Ben Fox, Pastor of East Chain Ev. Free Church. The service includes live band worship, bible teaching and wonderful kids program. Prior to the service, donuts and coffee will be served at 10 a.m. Bring your lawn chair and a friend. The public is welcome. In case of inclement weather, they will meet inside the church.

Prairie Star Quilters to hold meeting

Prairie Star Quilt Guild will hold its next meeting Monday, Aug. 12, at Fairmont Evangelical Covenant Church, 901 Woodland Ave., Fairmont. The quilt board will meet at 12:30 p.m., followed by a general membership meeting at 1:30 p.m. There will be a Trash to Treasure sale after the meeting. Bring your unwanted fabric and sewing items to donate for our “Free Will” sale and take home someone else’s treasure. No need to price items. Anyone interested in this group is welcome. Cardinal Boosters to meet Monday

Fairmont Cardinal Booster Club will hold its annual general meeting starting 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, in the media center at Fairmont High School. All are welcome to attend.
