Church on the Lawn in East Chain

“Church on the Lawn” will be held beginning 10:30 a.m. Sunday, July 7, at East Chain Evangelical Free Church, located three miles east of the village of East Chain. The speaker will be Chef John Lowery of Conger Inn Victory Catering. Chef John will be sharing his amazing faith story as well as preparing a delicious meal that will be served following the service. The service includes live band worship, bible teaching and wonderful kids program. Prior to the service, donuts and coffee will be served at 10 a.m. Bring your lawn chair and a friend. The public is welcome. In case of inclement weather, they will meet inside the church.

Hospital retirees to lunch

Fairmont Community Hospital retirees will hold their next luncheon 11 a.m. Monday, July 8, at the Green Mill Restaurant in the Best Western, Fairmont. All persons who worked and retired from the hospital in Fairmont are invited to attend.

Service Club to meet Tuesday

The Fairmont Service Club will hold its next weekly meeting noon Tuesday, July 9, at the Best Western in Fairmont. Featured speaker will be Jesse Walters of Martin County Soil and Water Conservation. Guests are always welcome. With questions, call Ken Detloff at (507) 236-4298.

Red Rock to host Tuesday music program

Red Rock Center for the Arts will host a free musical lunch hour beginning noon Tuesday, July 9, at 222 E. Blue Earth Ave. in Fairmont. Take a trip down memory lane with nothing but the oldies with Sister Luv. Enjoy a hot dog, chips, cookie and lemonade or coffee while listening. A free will donation will be taken. The public is invited.

Chubb House holds Wednesday coffee

The public is invited to join Chubb House committee members for coffee and treats beginning 10 a.m. every Wednesday morning at the Chubb House, 209 Lake Ave. in Fairmont. Stop by each Wednesday and appreciate one of Fairmont’s historical treasures.
