Summer kid’s events next week through library

Martin County Library will hold three summer events for kids next week. First join library staff for Park Storytime beginning 10 a.m. Monday, June 24, at the city park in Sherburn. Come for the storytime and activities. Next, join library staff for Park Storytime beginning 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, at Gomsrud Park in Fairmont. Come enjoy the storytime and other activities. Lastly, join library staff for Global Games at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, at the Fairmont Library, 110 N. Park St. in Fairmont. Learn about games played across the globe and give them a try. This program is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant provided by the Traverse des Sioux Library Cooperative, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund. Service Club to meet Tuesday

The Fairmont Service Club will hold its next weekly meeting noon Tuesday, June 25, at the Best Western in Fairmont. Featured speaker will be Deb Adams from Heaven’s Table Food Shelf. Guests are always welcome. With questions, call Lorin Pollock at (507) 230-4800.

Historical Society offers Tuesday program

A PowerPoint presentation entitled “The Luedtke Slough Controversy” will be shown 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, at the Pioneer Museum. Dan Kehrberg, a key figure involved in the controversy, will be in attendance. There is no charge and the public is invited to attend.

City Band to perform Tuesday concert

The Fairmont City Band will perform their 3rd summer concert of the season beginning 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, at the band shell in Sylvania Park in Fairmont. The band will perform marches, show tunes and standard concert band literature. Intermission entertainment will be provided by guitarist, Paul Nelson. Interlaken Heritage Days Committee will again be operating the concession stand on concert nights. A variety of items will be for sale with proceeds going toward expenses for IHD activities. City Band is always looking for new members. If you have completed the 10th grade please consider joining them. There are no tryouts or auditions. Rehearsals begin at 6 p.m. In case of rain both rehearsal and concert will be cancelled. For cancellation, listen to local radio stations or check the Fairmont City Band Facebook page after 5 p.m. on concert nights.

Chubb House holds Wednesday coffee

The public is invited to join Chubb House committee members for coffee and treats beginning 10 a.m. every Wednesday morning at the Chubb House, 209 Lake Ave. in Fairmont. Stop by each Wednesday and appreciate one of Fairmont’s historical treasures
