East Chain plans Memorial Day events
The 129th annual East Chain Memorial Day observance will be held Monday, May 27, at the East Chain Activity Center (old school building), rural East Chain. Coffee and donuts will be served 8:45 a.m., with the program getting underway around 9:30 a.m. Following the program, they will be honoring their deceased veterans at the dam in East Chain. After that, the 4-H Honor Guard will hold a wreath and cross ceremony along with a firing squad salute and the playing of ‘Taps’ at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery. Historical Society plans Tuesday program
A PowerPoint presentation entitled “Martin County Churches” will be shown 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, at the Pioneer Museum in Fairmont. There is no charge and the public is invited to attend.
Chubb House holds Wednesday coffee
The public is invited to join Chubb House committee members for coffee and treats beginning 10 a.m. every Wednesday morning at the Chubb House, 209 Lake Ave. in Fairmont. Stop by each Wednesday and appreciate one of Fairmont’s historical treasures.

Jacob Moeller of Fairmont and Alexander Spear of Granada, were named to the dean’s list for the 2024 spring semester at Alexandria Technical & Community College in Alexandria, Minn.
