Class of 1961 to lunch

Fairmont High School class of 1961, spouses and friends will meet for lunch 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, at the Pizza Ranch in Fairmont. All classmates are encouraged to attend.

Garden Club plans Wednesday meeting

City of Lakes Garden Club of Fairmont will meet next at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, at 1212 260th Avenue in Granada. Driving directions will be provided upon request. Visitors and new members are always welcome, but please call or text Leslie Walkowiak at (651) 895-6578 ahead of time to RSVP your attendance. There will be a business meeting followed by an informative report. Our overall theme for this year is Methods of Gardening/Visitors to the Garden. May’s topic will be Methods of Gardening “Building a Terrarium.” The purpose of the organization is to encourage all forms of horticulture in the home and community. Huntley church to hold Wednesday benefit supper

A benefit supper for the VonHoltum-Rue Family will be held 5:30-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, at the church located at 31323 170th St. in Huntley. Please come for the supper to help support Dustin and Rebecca as they’ve welcomed their new baby, Sebastian, born 19 weeks early. Dustin and Rebecca are members of the Huntley community and also have 3 small children at home. All donations received will be given to help with travel expenses as well as unexpected medical bills. An Italian meal with salad and dessert will be served. This is a free will offering. For more information, call the church at (507) 866-4646.

CREST to offer pillow cleaning

CREST will host Carlson Pillow Cleaning Service from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, May 2, in the upper level of the Evangelical Covenant Church, 901 Woodland Ave. in Fairmont. Pillows will be fluffed, cleaned, deodorized and sanitized while customers wait, or people may come back to pick up pillows later in the day. The service includes new ticking for pillows. Custom-made new pillows and down comforters will be available for sale. Participants are asked to bring pillows in garbage bags. All proceeds from this event will benefit the CREST organization.
