Discovery Place Preschool open house Tuesday
ECFE Family Fun Night Discovery Place Preschool will hold an open house/registration from 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, at Fairmont Elementary School, 714 Victoria St. in Fairmont. Please enter through Door 21. A meal will be provided. This is free and open for children, ages newborn to 5, along with an adult. There will be an opportunity to explore the preschool classrooms as well as enroll/register for the 2024-2025 school year. Library to hold Thursday events
The Martin County Library in Fairmont will hold 2 events on Thursday, April 18. First, join library staff for Books and Brews Morning Edition beginning 10 a.m. Thursday at the Fairmont Library, 110 N. Park St. in Fairmont. Library staff will highlight classic novels. Bring your coffee and join them. There is no cost to attend this event, and no registration is required. Also, the Fairmont Library will host the Minnesota Author Panel starting 6 p.m. Thursday at the library in Fairmont. Join award-winning authors Jess Lourey, Sarah Stonich and Kristi Belcamino for a wildly entertaining night of authors in conversation. Who are they? Where do they get their ideas? What were thier paths to publication? Just how do they do it? They’ll offer exclusive sneak peeks at their upcoming projects via a few teaser readings, followed by a Q & A session. This presentation is perfect for readers, writers and anyone looking for a fun night out. This program is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant provided by the Traverse des Sioux Library Cooperative, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund. Spice of Life meeting Thursday in Fairmont
CREST’s “Spice of Life” program is where persons living with Alzheimer’s/Dementia and their caregivers come together with others and enjoy a fun time. This month’s activity will be spring decorating for flower pots that will be planted in May. The next Spice of Life meeting will take place 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 18, at the CREST office, 820 Winnebago Ave. in Fairmont. There is no charge for this event, but you’re encouraged to RSVP by calling (507) 235-3833. They hope to see you there.
