Service Club to meet Tuesday

The Fairmont Service Club will hold its next weekly meeting noon Tuesday, March 12, at the Best Western in Fairmont. Featured speaker will be Tiffany Harrris, coordinator of the STEM program at Fairmont Elementary School. Guests are always welcome. With questions, call Lorin Pollock at (507) 230-4800.

Red Rock to hold Tuesday lunch event

Noon Lunch with the Arts program, featuring musical entertainment by Lee Kanten, will be held noon Tuesday, March 12, at the Red Rock Center for the Arts, 222 E. Blue Earth Ave. in Fairmont. He will be singing your favorite tunes from the late 60’s, early 70’s and more. You’ll enjoy his extemporaneous and warm stage presence. Bring a sack lunch if desired. Cookies and coffee will be available. This is free and everyone is welcome.

Garden Club plans Wednesday meeting

City of Lakes Garden Club of Fairmont will meet next at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, at Janzen’s Greenhouse, 2401 Albion Ave. in Fairmont. Note to members that this is a change of date and location from the previously published schedule. The group will be given a special tour of the greenhouse. The purpose of the organization is to encourage all forms of horticulture in the home and community. Meetings are open to visitors and new members but please RSVP your attendance to Leslie so adequate accommodations can be made. Janzen’s must be notified of how many people to expect that day. Human Rights Committee sets Thursday meeting

The Human Rights Committee of Martin County will meet 11 a.m. Thursday, March 14, at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 102 N. Park St. in Fairmont. Following guidelines from the nationally respected Minnesota Department of Human Rights, they strive to encourage respect and to maintain dignity for all the residencies of Martin County. Anyone is welcome to join them.

Class of 1962 to lunch

Fairmont High School class of 1962, spouses and friends will meet for lunch 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 14, at the Pizza Ranch in Fairmont. All classmates are encouraged to attend.

Wendy Sanchez of Fairmont was named to the dean’s list for the 2023 fall semester at Minnesota North College in Hibbing, Minn.

The following area students were named to the dean’s list for the 2023 fall semester at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities: Fairmont — Jack Barke, Ameya Komaragiri, Campbell Krusemark, Chloe Murphy and Maddy Schwieger.
