CER to offer upcoming community activities

Fairmont Community Education & Recreation (CER) will offer two upcoming community activities.

First, Acupressure to Assist Weight Loss will be held 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, online via Zoom. Acupressure is an Eastern healing technique that involves pressing or massaging key points on the body to stimulate energy flow through pathways called meridians. When the points that regulate metabolism, digestion and thyroid function are blocked or out of balance, losing weight will seem like an impossible task. In this workshop, you will learn the main pressure points that help strengthen thyroid function, boost metabolism, control appetite, decrease food cravings, reduce stress eating and strengthen the digestive system. The fee is $29. Registration closes March 8. Next, Understanding Trusts will be held 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 14, in room 112 on the Southern MN Educational Campus, 115 S. Park St. in Fairmont. There are so many different types of trusts with so many different names which can make them seem confusing and downright intimidating. This course will be a thorough explanation of Trusts, including Revocable Living Trusts, Irrevocable Trusts and Testamentary Trusts. We will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of using Trusts as a replacement for a Will. This FREE educational course is taught by attorney Cassandra Lustfield, from the Ford & Lustfield Law Office. Please pre-register to ensure class is held. For any further questions, call CER at (507) 235-3141.
