CER to offer upcoming community activities
Fairmont Community Education & Recreation (CER) will offer two upcoming community activities. First, STEAM-Boomwhackers, for youth in grades 3-6, will be held 3:30-5 p.m. Monday, March 11 and Tuesday, March 12, in room 210 at the Southern MN Educational Campus, 115 S. Park St. in Fairmont. Boomwhackers is an activity to promote children’s music learning. It uses playing, learning, and hearing music. No matter what musical skill you have, your child will find it to be a fun way to enjoy music. Music is a lifelong event. The fee is $17. Also, Acupressure to Assist Weight Loss will be held 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, online via Zoom. Acupressure is an Eastern healing technique that involves pressing or massaging key points on the body to stimulate energy flow through pathways called meridians. When the points that regulate metabolism, digestion and thyroid function are blocked or out of balance, losing weight will seem like an impossible task. In this workshop, you will learn the main pressure points that help strengthen thyroid function, boost metabolism, control appetite, decrease food cravings, reduce stress eating and strengthen the digestive system. The fee is $29. Registration closes March 8. For any further questions, call CER at (507) 235-3141.
