Service Club plans Tuesday meeting

Defensive Driving Course Tuesday in Fairmont

Over 55 Defensive Driving Program-Refresher Course will be held 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, in the auditorium at the Southern MN Educational Campus in Fairmont. The Driver Discount Program is a state approved accident prevention/insurance discount course that is open to the public; pre-registration is required. A MN Highway Safety and Research Center certified instructor teaches this class. Participants will be provided the latest information in regard to driver and traffic safety, new vehicle technology and updates with traffic laws. This class has something for everyone. Persons age 55 and older who complete the course qualify for an appropriate 10 percent discount on their auto insurance premiums for three years. First-time participants must complete the initial 8 hours of training and a 4-hour refresher class every three years to maintain the 10 percent discount. No registrations will be taken at Fairmont Community Education and Recreation.
