Mini Monday at the Fairmont Library

Join library staff for Mini Monday 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 9, at the Fairmont Library, 110 N. Park St. in Fairmont. This program is for kids, ages newborn to age 5, with an adult caregiver. Enjoy stories, songs and play time. There is no cost to attend this program and registration is not required.

CREST Lunch & Learn Monday in Fairmont

Getting older can sometimes be very scary with all the different details that need to be addressed. Wouldn’t it be nice if there was one place that could answer all your questions? The next CREST Lunch & Learn program will take place 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 9, at the CREST office, 820 Winnebago Ave. in Fairmont. This month’s speaker will be Becca from the Senior Linkage Line in Mankato. She will be informing those in attendance about the helpful resources that are available to area seniors. A lunch of meatballs in gravy over a mixture of white & wild rice, glazed carrots and an apple dessert will be served following the presentation. Please RSVP the CREST office at (507) 235-3833 if you would like to attend this program. This activity is open to anyone in Martin County and a free-will donation is always welcome.

Early childhood screening upcoming in Fairmont

Fairmont Area Schools will offer Early Childhood screenings for children born between Sept. 1, 2018 and Aug. 31, 2020, on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 16-18 at Fairmont Elementary School located at 714 Victoria St. in Fairmont. Minnesota law requires that all children entering kindergarten be screened prior to the start of school. It is recommended that this screening be done around the age of 3. Fairmont Area Schools will be offering screenings at no cost to all families living in the school district. Appointments for ECS may be made by calling Fairmont Area Schools at (507) 235-6205 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
