MCW 'Together We Fight' on Tuesday
Martin County West in cooperation with the volleyball parents is recognizing Tuesday, Oct. 3, as "Together We Fight" night. This initiative is designed to recognize cancer awareness, honor survivors and those that are no longer with us, and to raise funds for The Lutz Cancer Center at Mayo Clinic-Fairmont and American Cancer Society's Relay for Life of Martin County. On Tuesday, all students, staff and the community are encouraged to dress in Pink to recognize "Cancer awareness for ALL cancers." At the volleyball match that night all interested volleyball players grades 9-12 will be introduced with a cancer survivor of their choice. This will take place immediately following the B-squad match. Cancer survivors will be admitted to the volleyball match free of charge. There will also be a bake sale for a free will donation, silent auction, volleyball serving competition and tee-shirts sold. Anyone wishing to make a donation can do so in any of the school buildings or at one of the designated events. Checks can be written to: "Martin County West Cancer Survivor Night." 2023 will be their 14th year of honoring MCW cancer survivors.
