Early Risers set Wednesday meeting
Early Risers Kiwanis Club of Fairmont will meet 6:45 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, at the Ranch Restaurant, Fairmont. Featured speaker will be Chad Brusky, Principal at Fairmont High School. The public is invited.
Storytime event slated Thursday at the library
Join library staff for a lapsit storytime beginning 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, at the Martin County Library, 110 N. Park St. in Fairmont. This program is for children, ages birth to 2, and an adult caregiver. Spend quality time and share a love of books with a little reader. There is no cost to attend and no need to register. Martin Luther to host movie event Saturday
Martin Luther Jr/Sr High School in Northrop will host a free “Drive-in Movie Night” Saturday, Sept. 16, in the parking lot. The movie “Oh, God!” will begin at about 8 p.m. Listen on your FM radio. Free popcorn will be available. This movie was filmed in 1977 and is rated PG. George Burns stars as God who comes to earth, business card in hand, but has a hard time convincing his chosen messenger Jerry Landers (John Denver), an assistant manager of a local supermarket, that he is really God. Once convinced, Jerry has a hard time convincing his family and the rest of the world that he hasn’t gone insane.
