Red Rock hosts free concert Monday
The Summer Symphony will present a free concert beginning 7 p.m. Monday, July 10, at the Red Rock Center for the Arts, 222 E. Blue Earth Ave. in Fairmont. This ensemble is comprised of string, brass, woodwind, and percussion-playing community members aged 7th grade and up. They will perform a variety of classical, folk and movie music. Everyone is invited.
Historical Society offers presentation
A video presentation featuring the military experiences of Cliff Meyer and Mildred Brodt will be shown 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 11, at the Pioneer Museum in Fairmont. There is no charge and the public is invited to attend.
Fairmont City Band to hold concert
Fairmont City Band will perform its last summer concert of the season beginning 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 11, in the band shell at Sylvania Park in Fairmont. The band will perform marches, show tunes and standard concert band literature. Intermission entertainment provided by the Summer Theater Group performing selections from their summer play Sound of Music. IHD committee will operate the concession stand, with proceeds going toward Interlaken Heritage Days activities. Rehearsal will be held 6 p.m. Tuesday at the band shell. City Band is always looking for new members. Those who have completed 10th grade may join. There are no tryouts or auditions. Any cancellations will be announced at 5 p.m. over local radio stations. St. Paul's in Truman plans luncheon event
St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Truman will have its annual salad luncheon from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, at the church located at 110 E. 4th St. North in Truman. They will have over 40 different kinds of salads, bars and more. The cost is $8 for adults. Take-outs are available. There is a lift available for those unable to do the steps into the basement. Everyone is welcome.
Dunnell church to host Wednesday pie social
The Women of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dunnell will be hosting a BBQ-pie social fundraiser from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, July 12. This will be a fundraiser to support their Vacation Bible School program. There will also be hotdogs, beans, homemade potato salad, chips, pickles, ice cream and beverages. Take-outs are available. Free will offering. The church is handicap-accessible from the north side.
