Trimont FunFest this weekend
The 2023 Trimont FunFest is being held July 5-8. The activities got underway yesterday, July 5, with the medallion hunt. On Friday, July 7, a RibFest will be held 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Trimont Town Center and also there will be a farmer’s market and local vendors from 2-5 p.m. and musical entertainment by Casey Muessigmann from 9 p.m. to midnight at the Trimont Wild Bar. On Saturday, July 8, there will be a full day of activities including a fun run, sand volleyball tournament, Reptile & Amphibian Discovery Zoo, kid’s tractor pull, Bohemian tractor pull, plenty of games, inflatables and food stands. The parade will begin at 2 p.m., the beer garden for those 21+ will be from 5-11 p.m. and a bean bag tournament will begin at 6 p.m. Plenty to do for everyone. Church on the Lawn in East Chain
“Church on the Lawn” service will be held beginning 10:30 a.m. Sunday, July 9, at East Chain Evangelical Free Church, located three miles east of the village of East Chain. The service includes live band worship, bible teaching and wonderful kids program. Prior to the service, donuts and coffee will be served at 10 a.m. Bring your lawn chair and a friend. The public is welcome.
Mini Monday at the Fairmont Library
Join library staff for Mini Monday this summer beginning 10 a.m. Monday, July 10, at the Martin County Library, 110 N. Park St. in Fairmont. This program is for kids, ages newborn to age 5, with an adult caregiver. Enjoy stories, songs and play time. There is no cost to attend this program and registration is not required.
Hospital retirees to hold lunch
Fairmont Community Hospital retirees will hold their July luncheon at 11 a.m. Monday, July 10, at the Green Mill Restaurant in the Best Western, Fairmont. All persons who worked and retired from the hospital in Fairmont are invited to attend.
CREST Lunch & Learn Monday in Fairmont
When the month of July comes, our focus turns to patriotism and celebrating the 4th of July. We have a lot to be thankful for when it comes to the freedoms that we enjoy. The next CREST Lunch & Learn program will take place 11 a.m. Monday, July 10, at the CREST office, 820 Winnebago Ave. in Fairmont. This month will feature a patriotic program and a lunch of bratwursts/hotdogs, garden produce and watermelon will be served following the presentation. If you plan to attend this event, please RSVP to the CREST office at (507) 235-3833. This activity is open to anyone in Martin County and a free-will donation is always welcome.
Terrific Tuesdays at the Fairmont Library
Join library staff for Terrific Tuesdays this summer beginning 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, at the Fairmont Library, 110 N. Park St. in Fairmont. This event is for children in grades K-3. Enjoy plenty of fun activities. There is no need to register and no cost to attend.
