Early Risers set Wednesday meeting

Early Risers Kiwanis Club of Fairmont will meet 6:45 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, at the Ranch Restaurant, Fairmont. Featured speaker will be Blake Potthoff, Executive Director of the Fairmont Opera House. The public is invited.

Magic at Jackson County libraries

Magic Bob and Beautiful Lynn Marie will be performing two shows in Jackson at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, in the east cafeteria at the Government Center in Jackson. Enter through Door #7 for easy access. They will also be in Lakefield at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Thursday, June 29 in the meeting room at Lakefield Library and in Heron Lake at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 29 in the meeting room at Heron Lake Library. Their shows are fast-paced, high energy and lots of fun with audience interaction/participation. Registration is not required. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.

Worship at Sylvania Park on Wednesday

Everyone is invited to an energetic and uplifting community time of worship, music and prayer with a short, meaningful and relatable message at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, at Sylvania Park in Fairmont. Services this summer will be held every Wednesday through August 30 with a different speaker from the community featured each week. Songs will be led by an energetic praise band. Rain location will be Grace Lutheran Church.

Totally Tweens Thursday at the library

Join library staff for Totally Tweens this summer beginning 10 a.m. Thursday, June 29, at the Fairmont Library, 110 N. Park St. in Fairmont. Enjoy plenty of tween activities. There is no need to register and no cost to attend.

College News

Emma Hueper of Fairmont graduated and was awarded a bachelor’s degree in criminology & criminal justice (criminology track) following the 2023 spring semester at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa.

Gray Heille of Fairmont was named to the dean’s list for the 2023 spring semester at the University of Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie, Wis.
