City Administrator: Community Survey
The City of Fairmont is beginning the process of recruiting and selecting a City Administrator. The City of Fairmont has contracted with GovHR USA to facilitate this process. The Mayor and City Council believe it is important to receive feedback from the community on the characteristics and traits the city administrator should possess as well as the opportunities and challenges they may face. Please complete the survey posted on the City of Fairmont's website (fairmont.org) by July 7, 2023.
Terrific Tuesdays at the Fairmont Library
Join library staff for Terrific Tuesdays this summer beginning 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 27 at the Fairmont Library, 110 N. Park St. in Fairmont. This event is for children in grades K-3. Enjoy plenty of fun activities. There is no need to register and no cost to attend.
Historical Society offers Tuesday program
A PowerPoint presentation entitled "The 1970s in Martin County" will be shown 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, at the Pioneer Museum in Fairmont. There is no charge. The public is invited to attend.
Fairmont City Band to hold concert
Fairmont City Band will perform its next summer concert of the season beginning 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, in the band shell at Sylvania Park in Fairmont. The band will perform marches, show tunes and standard concert band literature. Intermission entertainment will be Lauren Wheeler, a member of the Fairmont High School speech team, who will present a creative expression speech. IHD committee will operate the concession stand, with proceeds going toward Interlaken Heritage Days activities. Rehearsal will be held 6 p.m. Tuesday at the band shell. City Band is always looking for new members. Those who have completed 10th grade may join. There are no tryouts or auditions. Any cancellations will be announced at 5 p.m. over local radio stations.
