Terrific Tuesdays at the Fairmont Library

Join library staff for Terrific Tuesdays this summer beginning 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 20 at the Fairmont Library, 110 N. Park St. in Fairmont. This event is for children in grades K-3. Enjoy plenty of fun activities. There is no need to register and no cost to attend.

Service Club to hold Tuesday meeting

Fairmont Service Club will meet noon Tuesday, June 20, at the Best Western Hotel in Fairmont. The program this week has not been determined. The public is always welcome to join club members for these programs. For more information, please call president, Gary Schaub, at (507) 236-6701.

Heritage Acres meeting on Thursday

The next meeting of Heritage Acres will be held 6 p.m. Thursday, June 22, in the Prairieville Building at Heritage Acres, 507 Lake Ave. in Fairmont. After a dinner, the Fairmont High School Robotics team will have a demonstration. Then, Jerry Simon, president, will present last year’s summary and future plans. Four retired volunteers will be honored for their contributions to Heritage Acres. Also, elections will be conducted with a report of the nominating committee and voting on three directors. All members and the public are invited to attend.

St. James railroad club extends invitation

The non-profit Roundhouse Model Railroad Club, which promotes the model railroad hobby, will be open during Railroad Days from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, June 22, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 24 and 1-5 p.m. Sunday, June 25 at the club located at 307 Tiell Drive, St. James. Admission is free. Guests can view the club’s “HO” scale layout representing St. James and a children’s Lionel layout that the kids can operate themselves. The club meets regularly from 7-9 p.m. Thursdays and from 1-7 p.m. Saturdays. Meetings are open to visitors and potential new members. For more information, visit roundhouseinc.org.
