Borderline Cruisers plan car show

Borderline Cruisers Car Club will hold its 31st annual Classic Car Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 10, on Downtown Plaza in Fairmont. Registration will be 9 a.m. to noon. Show registration costs $15. Twenty-five trophies will be given to club’s choice. Come on down for some great prizes, giveaways and your choice for 2 toolboxes to registered participants. All are welcome.

Dougherty benefit Sunday in Odin

Odin Firemen’s Relief Association is hosting a benefit for member, Ben Dougherty, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, June 11, at the Odin Community Center in Odin. A previous heart defect has manifested itself again causing diminishing pulmonary functions which effects his work resulting in more weekly trips to Minneapolis to see specialists and for medications. The menu includes burgers, potato salad, chips, beans, ice cream sundaes and beverages. Free will donations will be appreciated. There will also be a silent auction. If you can’t attend, donations for him can be made to the Odin Firemen’s Relief Association by mailing checks to P.O. Box 33, Odin, MN 56160, or dropping off at the Odin State Bank.

Sundaes in the Park kicks off this weekend

After a long winter, the Trimont Centennial Band kicks off the Sundaes in the Park season with a variety of selections. From marches to soft and romantic, the music will get your toes tapping and heart thumping. The band is made up of members from Trimont and the surrounding area. Not only do they love playing, they also raise funds to support the Maynard Nelson scholarship fund, which gives an annual award to an MCW senior who has participated in music during high school. Bring your lawn chair and join them at 6 p.m. Sunday, June 11, at Memorial Park, the one with the gazebo, for awesome music and ice cream sundaes with chocolate sauce, caramel sauce and/or strawberry toppings. A free will donation is always welcome. See you there.

Classic Movie Monday at the library

Join library staff for Classic Movie Monday beginning 1 p.m. Monday, June 12, at the Martin County Library, 110 N. Park St. in Fairmont. We will show the movie “Vertigo.” Popcorn and water will be served. With questions, call the library at (507) 238-4207.
