Sportsman Club sets shooting event
East Chain Sportsman’s Club will hold a trap shoot event beginning noon Sunday, June 4, at the club located a half-mile north of East Chain. They will be shooting practice rounds, then 16-yard and 25-yard Oakley’s and Boondocks. The grill will be on all day. For more information, contact Moby at (507) 236-4189. Everyone is welcome.
Chair Fitness for Adults Tuesday at library
Join library staff for chair fitness beginning 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, at the Fairmont Library, 110 N. Park St. in Fairmont. This low impact exercise class will allow you to remain seated while following along with the class on the library’s large video screen. Join them for this new program at the library. Class of 1960 to lunch
Fairmont High School class of 1960 will meet for lunch 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, at the Pizza Ranch in Fairmont. All classmates are encouraged to attend.
CER to offer upcoming community activity
Fairmont Community Education & Recreation (CER) will offer an upcoming community activity. Avoid The Pitfalls (And Weight Gain) of Perimenopause & Menopause class will be held 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, online via Zoom. Perimenopause starts around the age of 35 for most women and can last 10-15 years. Common symptoms include fatigue, migraines, weight gain, water retention, depression, sleep disturbances, joint aches, hot flashes, anger flashes, migraines, fibroids, exaggerated PMS and more. Once you understand exactly what is causing all the troublesome symptoms, they are much easier to correct. We’ll discuss how to get hormone levels measured, blood test vs. saliva test and what to do with the results; traditional HRT vs. bio-identical; acupressure points to assist in symptoms relief and nutritional musts.
