DIY recycled bow crafts Thursday at library

Join library staff for this adult craft beginning 2 p.m. Thursday, June 1, at the Martin County Library, 110 N. Park St. in Fairmont. Make bows from recycled materials that will look beautiful on your next gift. All supplies are provided. There is no cost to attend and registration is not required. Kid’s All American fishing derby Saturday

Kiwanis Club of Fairmont Early Risers and the Fairmont Bass Seekers are once again sponsoring a Kid’s All American Fishing Derby and Casting Contest free to participants, ages 5 to 16, from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 3, at Gomsrud Park in Fairmont. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Prizes are awarded in different categories from fish caught, size and weight. The casting contest will also have prizes awarded. Snacks will be provided for the participants. Some night crawlers will be available for those who don’t bring their own bait. Many prizes have been donated for these events by area merchants and manufacturers of fishing gear.
