Early Risers set Wednesday meeting
Early Risers Kiwanis Club of Fairmont will meet 6:45 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, at the Ranch Restaurant, Fairmont. Featured speakers will be John Lund and Jacob Zebedee from Lund Chiropractic Clinic in Fairmont. The public is invited.
Spice of Life meeting Thursday in Fairmont
CREST’s “Spice of Life” program is where persons living with Alzheimer’s/Dementia and their caregivers come together with others and enjoy a fun time. This month’s activity will be planting flowers in decorated pots. Spice of Life will take place 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 18, at the CREST office, located at 820 Winnebago Ave. in Fairmont. There is no charge for this event, but RSVP’s are encouraged by calling (507) 235-3833. Hope to see you there.
Blue Earth Lions plan Friday program
The 63rd annual Lions Club Athletic Program will be held 7 p.m. Friday, May 19, in the Performing Arts Center at Blue Earth Area High School in Blue Earth. Dessert will be served after the program. Students in grades 7-12 that have earned a JV or Varsity Letter will be recognized. Special awards will be given to selected seniors. Tickets can be purchased the night of the program for $10 per ticket or through any Blue Earth Lions Club member.

The following area students were awarded degrees during a spring commencement ceremony held May 12 at Minnesota State University, Moorhead: Fairmont — Laura Odgren, SPEC School of Pyschology; Jackson — Karrah Lucht, master’s degree in curriculum and instruction; Truman — Autumn Wolf, bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.
