Celebrate Community Education Day

Help Fairmont Community Education & Recreation (CER) celebrate 50 years at an open house held 3-6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, in Suite 131 at 115 S. Park St. in Fairmont. Join them for coffee and cookies and maybe share your ideas. All are invited.

Mt. Everest climber Saturday at Fairmont Library

Join library staff to hear from Jen Loeb, a climber from Iowa, beginning 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Fairmont Library, 110 N. Park St. in Fairmont. Loeb has climbed to the top of Mt. Everest, along with all of the highest peaks on every continent. She will share stories from her climbing adventures, along with photographs. With questions, call the library at (507) 238-4207.

Schwieger/Roiger benefit Sunday in Northrop

A benefit dinner and silent auction for Lynn Schwieger and her son, Caleb Roiger, will be held Sunday, Nov. 13, at Martin Luther High School in Northrop. A meal of pork patties grilled by the Martin County Pork Producers, baked beans, potato salad, chips and assorted desserts will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Cost is a free will donation. Bidding for the silent auction will begin at 10:30 a.m. and close at 1 p.m. The benefit is sponsored by the Schwieger/Roiger Benefit committee from St. James, Northrop and Zion, Fraser churches. All are invited.

BE Senior Center fundraiser Sunday

Blue Earth Senior Center will hold a fundraiser form 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, at the center located at 118 W. 7th St. in Blue Earth. Baked potato bar, hot soup, and desserts will be served for a free will offering with a suggested donation of $5. Proceeds from this event will help provide support for the senior lunch program which offers Blue Earth senior citizens a healthy meal on weekdays. This is sponsored through a Thrivent Financial Action Team. Everyone is welcome.
