Humane Society bake sale fundraiser Saturday

Martin County Humane Society will hold a bake sale fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at Fleet & Farm Ace Supply Hardware, 1300 N. State St. in Fairmont. Several baked goods will be available to purchase. Proceeds will help with expenses for the animals at the shelter in Fairmont. Everyone is welcome.

Music events Saturday in Fairmont

Local music artist, Lil Orphic, will have an album preview and meet-and-greet from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at Loxley Coffee located at 428 E. Blue Earth Avenue in Fairmont. Everyone is invited. Also, Orphic Records will hold an album release party for Lil Orphic beginning 8 p.m. Saturday at the Fairmont Eagles Club, 1228 Lake Ave, in Fairmont. Special guest will be Uzzah. It is for people of all ages. Must be 21+ to drink alcohol.

CER to offer upcoming community activities

Fairmont Community Education & Recreation (CER) will offer three upcoming online classes classes with Janice Novak. First, a Hips, Thighs and Otherwise online class via Zoom will be held 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27. In this workshop, you will learn her famous ’10 Minute Miracle Exercise’ series to strengthen lower body muscles quickly. You will need a resistance band tied in a loop. Next, a Women’s Heart Health online class via Zoom will be held 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28. Discussions will be about signs, symptoms and risk factors of a heart attack, hormones and your heart, foods and helpful nutrients and exercises needed. Last, an online The Art of De-Aging: Peel Years off Your Bio Age class that will be held 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29. You will learn the difference between your chronological age versus your biological or body age and how you can have more control over how your body ages.
