Rifle & Pistol Club sets Tuesday meeting
Fairmont Rifle & Pistol Club will hold their annual meeting 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, at 310 Downtown Plaza in Fairmont. Enter through the rear door. Anyone interested in joining the club is welcome.
Winter co-rec volleyball meeting Thursday
An organizational meeting for Winter Co-Rec Volleyball will be held 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, in room 135 at the Southern MN Educational Campus (SMEC) located at 115 S. Park St. in Fairmont. A completed team roster and fee must be turned into Community Education and Recreation no later than Jan. 2, 2022. The team fee will be $159. Play begins Thursday, Jan. 17. “Christmas Carol” reading Thursday at Red Rock
The third annual community reading of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, at the Red Rock Center for the Arts, 222 E. Blue Earth Ave. in Fairmont. This will be a dramatic reading of the 1843 story by six members of the community. Students from the Fairmont High School Orchestra will play holiday tunes before the show begins. Food and drink will be available. The reading is free and open to all. The reading is also a fundraiser and donations received during the night will be given to Heaven’s Table Food Shelf. During intermission, volunteers from the food shelf, Jerry and Pauline Bergt, will speak about the food shelf and its work in the community. The American Legion Lee C. Prentice Post 36 is helping to support this event.
Cookie Walk next weekend in Northrop
The third annual Cookie Walk will be held 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, in the fellowship hall at St. James Lutheran Church in Northrop. You can purchase by the pound or buy pre-boxed. Containers are available or you may bring your own. Enjoy coffee and cider for a free will donation. All are invited.
