Red Cross blood drives upcoming

There will be two blood donation opportunities this week in our local area. First, they will hold a blood drive from 12-6 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. to noon Friday at First Presbyterian Church, 706 Third Ave. in St. James. They will also hold a blood drive from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 214 S. Holland St. in Truman. The American Red Cross urges eligible donors to make a resolution to give blood to help ensure a stable and diverse blood supply as donations historically decline throughout the summer months. Blood donors of all types are needed, especially those with AB negative, O negative, A negative and B negative. To learn more or make an appointment to give blood, call 1-800-733-2767, visit redcrossblood.org, or download the free Red Cross Blood Donor App.
