Jackson library group seeks donations

Friends of the Jackson County Library is accepting donations through Aug. 31 for its annual book sale. The event provides supplemental funds for programs, materials and other extras for the Jackson, Lakefield and Heron Lake libraries. Books, audiobooks, CDs, DVDs, LPs, puzzles and games can be dropped off in Jackson at the Historic State Theater and Sunshine Foods. Textbooks, encyclopedias and magazines will not be accepted. Those who need help dropping off books or who have a large number may contact a librarian in Jackson at (507) 847-4748, in Lakefield at (507) 662-5782 or in Heron Lake at (507) 793-2641. This year’s book sale is scheduled for September.

The following area students were named to the dean’s list for the 2021 spring semester at Iowa Lakes Community College: Armstrong — Braden Pierce; Butterfield — Elisabeth Pankratz; Dolliver — Jazmyne Anderson, Hunter Prentice; Fairmont — Sarah Justice; Fenton — Logan Longhenry, Kayla Potratz; Swea City — Hailey Arndorfer, Abigail Kintzle; Welcome — Derek Hughes, Dawson Weber.
