Lakes Foundation schedules cleanup
Fairmont Lakes Foundation, Inc. has scheduled a clean-up of Amber Lake for Saturday. They will register at the north end of Amber Lake at 8 a.m. Garbage from the lake will be collected from 8-11:30 a.m. The City will have trucks available to haul away the debris, one will be on the north landing and one will be at the south public access. All volunteers are welcome to participate. To assist volunteers, waders, kayaks, canoes, boats, and pontoons are encouraged.
Blue Earth Legion to hold chicken feed
Blue Earth American Legion Post 89 will hold a chicken feed from 5-7:30 p.m. Saturday in the club room at the legion building. They will serve chicken, baked potato, green beans, corn, coleslaw, fresh baked bread and coffee. You may dine in, with limited seating, or have takeout. To place your order, call (507) 526-2443. The meal costs $10 for adults and $5 for children, 12 and under. Everyone is invited.
Red Rock to host open mic night
Red Rock Center for the Arts will host open mic night beginning 7 p.m. Saturday at the Red Rock Center for the Arts, 222 E. Blue Earth Ave. in Fairmont. Musical acts, literature reading, poetry reading or other talents are welcome. To reserve your spot on stage, email Katie Koenning at koenning.katie @gmail.com.
