Prairie Star Quilters to hold meeting
Prairie Star Quilt Guild will meet Monday at Fairmont Evangelical Covenant Church, 901 Woodland Ave. in Fairmont. The guild board will meet at 12:30 p.m., with the membership meeting at 1:30 p.m. Social distancing will be practiced and masks will be worn. Members are encouraged to bring projects they’ve completed for the show-and-tell portion of the meeting. The evening guild membership meeting will be held 5:30 p.m. also at the church. Interested guests are always welcome.
“Peace” discussion planned Tuesday
“Let’s Talk About Peace,” a two-hour seminar which will examine the value of
“active nonviolence” as lived and written about by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Mahatma Gandhi, and Leo Tolstoy, will be held 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the CER classroom at Fairmont Elementary School, 714 Victoria St. in Fairmont. Please enter through door #15A. Instructor is Peter Engstrom. Pre-registration is encouraged by calling CER at (507) 235-3141. This event is free and open to the public.
