Worship Center plans breakfast

Regional Worship Center in Sherburn will host a community breakfast from 8-10 a.m. Monday at their facility located at 2 Crossroads Dr. in Sherburn. During this time they will not be serving buffet. The meal will be served as ordered. There will be a free will donation. Everyone is invited.

The annual meeting of the Fairmont chapter of Dollars for Scholars will be 7 p.m. Wednesday in the CER meeting room at Fairmont Elementary School. A copy of the organization’s annual report is available upon request.

Library group schedules book sale

Thousands of books will be available for purchase at the Jackson County Friends of the Library annual book sale planned for Sept. 17-19 at the Blue Building at the Jackson County Fairgrounds in Jackson. Hours will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sept. 17, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 18 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 19, when book lovers will be able to fill a bag with books for just $3. A presale for Friends of the Library members will be 5-7 p.m. Sept. 16. Anyone can become eligible for the presale by joining the Friends of the Library, either in advance or at the sale. The cost for membership is $2 for students, $10 for individuals or $15 per household, with additional sponsorships set at $100 for a patron and $200 for a benefactor. Checks can be dropped off at one of the three libraries or mailed to: 311 Third St., Jackson, MN, 56143. Browsers and buyers alike are asked to bring and wear their masks to the sale. Proceeds from the event will provide supplemental funds for the Jackson, Lakefield and Heron Lake libraries. For more information, call (507) 847-4748.
