Emergency food distribution scheduled

Heavens Table Food Shelf, in coordination with Second Harvest Heartland, will provide a free emergency food distribution to the residents of Martin County. This is an effort by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to connect farm fresh product with families that have a need. The distribution will be 9-11 a.m. Tuesday at the Martin County Fairgrounds. Enter the grounds at the south entrance by the arena (not the racetrack), then exit on the north side of the arena. Participants will receive three boxes. One will be produce, one will be poultry and pork meat product, and the third will be a variety of dairy products. There is a limit of two families per car, with a representative of each family in the car. There will be additional produce on hand as well. Organizers will collect data of the ages of family members only. This distribution is open to the public and free to all who attend.
