First Congregational plans free meal
First Congregational United Church of Christ in Fairmont will offer a free community meal 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church located at 319 Downtown Plaza in Fairmont. They will serve tater tot hotdish, chili cheese dog, fresh vegetable, dessert and water. This will be a drive-through pickup meal in the alley behind the church. Walk-up customers also are welcome. Social distancing will be observed.
The following area students graduated and were awarded degrees and honors at a virtual commencement ceremony June 15 at Iowa State University in Ames: Bancroft — McKenzie Hellman, bachelor’s degree in animal science; Blue Earth — Adam Buseman, bachelor’s degree in agricultural engineering (cum laude); Zachary Vaske, bachelor’s degree in agronomy; Fairmont — Larissa Becker, bachelor’s degree in animal science (cum laude); Madison Holmers, bachelor’s degree in supply chain management; Lucas Jedlicka, bachelor’s degree in computer engineering (summa cum laude); Nathan Larson, bachelor’s degree in environmental science and animal ecology; Jack Maakestad, bachelor’s degree in supply chain management; Ellie Tonder, bachelor’s degree in English (magna cum laude); Jackson — Chyenne Cihak, bachelor’s degree in animal science; Lakota — Hunter Gelhaus, bachelor’s degree in agricultural business; Sherburn — Whitney Smith, bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and health (summa cum laude); Swea City — Wyatt Runksmeier, bachelor’s degree in industrial technology.
