Help sought for placing flags at Lakeside

Fairmont American Legion Post 36 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1222 will be placing American flags on veterans graves beginning 7 a.m. Saturday at Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont. Efforts will be made to comply with COVID-19 regulations for social distancing. If you would like to volunteer in placing the flags at the cemetery, plan on meeting at 6:45 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot at Lakeside Cemetery. They will then get started around 7 a.m. The flags will remain in place for public viewing until 1 p.m. May 26. In the event of rain, flags will be taken down on the afternoon of May 27.
