East Chain church plans coffee party

East Chain United Methodist Church will host a monthly community coffee party from 8:30-11 a.m. Saturday at the church in East Chain. French toast, sausage, ham, coffee, tea, milk and juice will be served. Donations accepted for the Oakwood Cemetery maintenance fund. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Martin Luther to hold Sunday luncheon

A soup and sandwich luncheon will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at Martin Luther High School in Northrop. The menu includes homestyle chicken noodle, beer cheese and baked potato chowder with bacon soups, egg salad and ham sandwiches, cupcakes, homemade ice cream, lemonade and brewed coffee. Donations accepted. Proceeds will benefit the student tuition aid fund. Everyone is invited.

‘Music Man’ slated at Chanhassen

Meredith Wilson’s six-time Tony Award-winning musical comedy has entertained audiences since 1957 and is a family-friendly story. The Music Man follows a fast-talking salesman set in River City, Iowa, who falls for a librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen. Fairmont Community Education & Recreation will offer a bus trip April 22 to Chanhassen Dinner Theater. The fee is $99, which includes bus transportation, lunch and the show. The bus will depart at 8 a.m. from the Fairmont Walmart, 8:30 a.m. from Shell Food Mart in Blue Earth and 9 a.m. from the Wells school. The deadline to register is March 18.
