Woodcarving group to meet

CER Woodcarving group will meet 7 p.m. Tuesday in the art room at Fairmont Elementary School. Park on the south side of the building and use the CER office door. There is no charge. New and experienced carvers are welcome.

Truman class of 1959 to meet

Truman High School class of 1959 will meet for lunch 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Pizza Ranch, Fairmont. All classmates and friends are invited.

First Congregational plans free meal

First Congregational United Church of Christ will host a free community meal 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church, 319 Downtown Plaza, Fairmont. The meal will consist of chili, cornbread muffins, fresh vegetables and assorted bars. Everyone is invited.

College News

The following area students were named to the dean’s list for the 2019 fall semester at the University of Wisconsin-Stout: Fairmont — Alex Bertram; Trimont — Sarah Jacobson; Truman — Elizabeth Kotewa.

Alyssa Williamson of Sherburn was named to the College of Liberal Arts dean’s list for the 2019 fall semester at Hamline University in St. Paul.

Lydia Kerekes of Fairmont and Sierra Tumbleson of Trimont were named to the academic dean’s list for the 2019 fall semester at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa.
