Exchange Club to meet today

Fairmont Exchange Club will meet noon today at the Holiday Inn, Fairmont. The program will feature Bob and Deb Bonk, track and cross country coaches for Fairmont High School. Early Risers set Wednesday meeting

Early Risers Kiwanis Club of Fairmont will meet 6:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Ranch Restaurant, Fairmont. The program will feature Danny Klous of D&A Properties and Self Storage, Fairmont Investment Group and Hall Lake Cabins & Pontoon Rental in Fairmont, who will talk about housing rental needs, issues and ordinances. The public is invited to attend.

United Methodist slates Wednesday supper

Fairmont United Methodist Church will host a supper from 5-6 p.m. Wednesday at the church, 119 E. Second St., Fairmont. The menu will consist of turkey commercials, lettuce salad, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, donated desserts and beverages. A donation of $2 is suggested. Everyone is welcome.

Reading of Christmas classic planned

The next practice community reading of “A Christmas Carol: A Ghost Story of Christmas” by Charles Dickens will be 7 p.m. Thursday at the Martin County Library, Fairmont. This will not be the play, but a reading of the story as written by Charles Dickens in 1843. The book, in its entirety, will be read the first week in December. People are needed to read. Total time for the reading is about 90 minutes. All donations generated from the event will be given to Heaven’s Table Food Shelf. For more information, call (507) 848-4414.

Veterans memorial breakfast Sunday

Fairmont Area Knights of Columbus will sponsor a veterans memorial breakfast from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 920 E. 10th St., Fairmont. Pancakes, sausage, milk, juice and coffee will be served. Cost is a donation. Proceeds will benefit the Martin County Veterans Memorial Fund. All are invited to attend.
