Hospital retirees to hold lunch

Fairmont Community Hospital retirees will meet for lunch 11 a.m. Monday at Interlaken Golf Club, Fairmont. Please note the change of location.

Prairie Star Quilters to hold meeting

Prairie Star Quilt Guild will meet Monday at Fairmont Evangelical Covenant Church, 901 Woodland Ave. The guild board will meet 12:30 p.m., with the regular membership meeting beginning 1:30 p.m. A Sew and Share will follow the meeting. The evening group will meet at 5:30 p.m. Membership is open to anyone who enjoys quilting. Quilters of all skill levels are welcome. For more information, contact Debra Engman at (507) 236-6253.

Fairmont Community blood drive slated

American Red Cross will hold a Fairmont community blood drive from 12:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday in the Budd Room at the Fairmont Holiday Inn, 1201 Torgerson Dr., Fairmont. Those who donate blood during September will receive a coupon by email for a free haircut at participating Sport Clips Haircuts locations. For appointments, call (800) 733-2767 or go online at www.redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code FAIRMONTMN. Eligible donors are asked to make a resolution to give blood to help ensure a stable and diverse blood supply. Blood donors of all types are needed.

55 Alive driving course offered

Mark Fujan of State Farm Insurance will offer a free 55 Alive/Defensive Driving Course on Tuesday at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Fairmont. Tax and legal tips will begin at 4 p.m., with the class starting at 4:30 p.m. Pre-registration is requested. There is limited seating, so those interested are asked to call as soon as possible to register. Drivers 55 and older can save money on their auto insurance by attending the course. St. Jude fundraiser in Armstrong

Cruisin for St. Jude Patriot Day will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the city park in Armstrong. Bring your cars, trucks, bikes, tractors, fire trucks, etc. Everyone is invited to join in for this great cause.
