City of Lakes Garden Club to meet

City of Lakes Garden Club of Fairmont will meet 1 p.m. today in the fellowship hall at Lakeview Methodist Heath Care Center, 610 Summit Dr., Fairmont. There will be a business meeting followed by a presentation on “Vegetables – Beets.” The purpose of the organization is to encourage all forms of horticulture in the home and community. New fall event tonight in Fairmont

The first ever fall season multi-block party and picnic will be held 5-7 p.m. tonight at Veterans Park in Fairmont. The park is located on North Prairie Avenue between Second and Third streets. The event is sponsored by Fairmont United Methodist Church. Families are welcome. A free hot dog lunch will be served (until all the hot dogs are gone). Area organizations will have display tables set up as well a police squad car and fire truck available. Everyone is invited.

Class of 1951 to hold lunch

Fairmont High School class of 1951, spouses and friends will meet for lunch 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Ranch Restaurant, Fairmont.

Truman High class of 1955 to meet

Truman High School class of 1955 will meet 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the China House Cafe in Truman. All classmates and anyone interested in attending are welcome.
