Scavenger hunt today at Farmer’s Market

A scavenger hunt will be available for kids 4 p.m. today during the Fairmont Farmer’s Market. Interested kids should meet at the Rural Advantage booth where PoP tokens are distributed. Beth Labenz, SNAP-Ed Educator-Health & Nutrition Programs, Watonwan County Extension Office will lead the activity. There is no charge to participate. As a reminder, Fairmont Farmer’s Market is held 4-6 p.m. every Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, at the northeast corner of the mall parking lot, near Burger King in Fairmont. Come out and support your local farmers this summer.

Early Risers to hold Wednesday meeting

Early Risers Kiwanis Club of Fairmont will meet 6:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Ranch Restaurant, Fairmont. The program this week will feature Roni Dauer, director of Fairmont Community Education and Recreation. The public is invited to attend.

Low vision support group to meet at CREST

Low Vision Support Group sponsored by CREST will meet 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the CREST office located at 820 Winnebago Ave. in Fairmont. This month’s topic is the proper use of eye medications. This support group will be useful for those with reduced or low vision as well as blindness. An invitation is also extended to those who care for or assist individuals struggling with various eyesight issues. Coffee and cookies will be served following the meeting. If you would like more information on this support group, you may call the CREST office at (507) 235-3833.
