Mayo gift shop to host sidewalk sale

The gift shop at Mayo Clinic Health System-Fairmont will host a sidewalk sale from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday outside the former Lutz Wing entrance.

Early Risers to hold Wednesday meeting

Early Risers Kiwanis Club of Fairmont will meet 6:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Ranch Restaurant, Fairmont. Featured this week will be Alex Schmidt and Jake Tietje, co-principals for Fairmont Jr./Sr. High School. The public is invited to attend.

Canoe, kayak club to meet today

Canoe and kayak enthusiasts are invited to join others for an outing at 6:30 p.m. today. The event will be held on Kiester Lake, north of Fairmont. To get to the launch site: Take County Road 39 about three miles north of the Martin County Fairgrounds, then go east on 150th Street for one mile, then head north on 196th Avenue for a quarter-mile. Turn into Jim Droegenmueller’s lane (1534 196th Avenue). Keep traveling east to the south end of the lake. Woodcarvers and Quilt EXPO slated

Blue Earth will host the 36th annual Woodcarvers and Quilt EXPO at Unity Hall at Blue Earth Area High School this weekend. EXPO hours are 4-8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. Adult admission is $5. A three-day pass is $8. Children 12 and younger are admitted for free. An opening night reception is scheduled 5:30-7 p.m. Friday, with complimentary beverage and snacks.
