Dance club slates Sunday event

Arc Different Drummer Dance Club will have a dinner and dance from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the Holiday Inn in Fairmont. Please RSVP for the dinner and if you plan to attend the dance by noon Thursday. The public is invited to attend. For more information, contact Pat Kietzer at (507) 848-5017.

Fairmont High School class of 1964 will meet 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Pizza Ranch, Fairmont.

Fundraiser to be held Friday in Elmore

Friends of the Elmore Public Library will host its fifth annual “Books, Burgers and Brews” fundraiser from 5-10 p.m. Friday at Bogey Bar & Grill, north of Elmore. The burger bar costs $10 per person, with a double burger bar $12 per person. Beverages not included. Commemorative steins are $6 each, or visitors may pay $10 and drink all the root beer they want. Guests may browse and bid on book-themed baskets donated by area businesses and community members from 5-9:30 p.m. Proceeds will be used to set up an annuity fund for a yearly scholarship to be awarded to a graduating senior in the Elmore Library service area; to purchase and place the first Little Free Library in the Elmore community; and to help finance the beginnings of a Friends Teen Advisory Board.
