Korean vets plan Thursday meeting
Fairmont Korean Veterans Chapter 254 members and spouses will meet for a lunch event noon Thursday at the Pizza Ranch, Fairmont. Doug Landsteiner, Veteran Services Officer in Martin County, will be the speaker. For more information, contact Gary Schwieger at (507) 238-1675.
Dance club slates Sunday event
Arc Different Drummer Dance Club will host a dinner and dance from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the Fairmont Holiday Inn. RSVP before noon Thursday. The public is invited to attend. For more information, contact Pat Kietzer at (507) 848-5017.
Class of 1964 to meet
Fairmont High School class of 1964 will meet 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Pizza Ranch, Fairmont. All classmates are encouraged to attend.
Family Film Fridays slated at library
Martin County Library in Fairmont will host a free family film at 1 p.m. on select Fridays. Popcorn will be served. Films being shown are: June 14 — How to Train Your Dragon-The Hidden World; June 21 — Lego Movie 2; June 28 — A Dog’s Way Home; July 12 — Ralph Breaks the Internet; July 19 — Smallfoot. Club to sponsor garden party event
City of Lakes Garden Club of Fairmont will sponsor a garden party and plant swap event from 9-11 a.m. Saturday in the open shelter house at Lincoln Park, 1301 N. North Ave., in Fairmont. This is a free event and will take place, rain or shine. Visitors may bring extra plants or gardening tools, yard art, containers, etc., to swap. They may take home as many items as they bring. There will be light refreshments, live music, silent auction items and a door prize. Everyone is welcome.
Opera House to hold membership meeting
Fairmont Opera House will hold its annual membership meeting Tuesday night at the Opera House. Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be served at 5 p.m. with the meeting to begin around 6 p.m. All members and anyone interested in becoming a member is welcome to attend.
